I spent yesterday at the Foxfield Races in Charlottesville, Virginia. Foxfield is a horse race that occurs at the end of each April. Nearly 100,000 people attend and companies such as Country Club Prep, Vineyard Vines, and Lauren James sponsor the event. This year Lauren James, being the amazing company that they are, sent me to Foxfield with tickets and a dress so I could share the Foxfield experience with all of you. While there, I met up with some old friends, talked to a few companies I had previously worked with, interacted with some readers, and caught a pretty nasty sunburn (see Twitter @dailydoseprep).
All in all, it was a fabulous day. With the sun high in the sky and 94 degrees blazing down on everyone, we still managed to have a great day. Lauren James let me pick out a dress from their website and I couldn’t help but think of seersucker when I think of a derby. I ended up choosing the Emerson dress in mint green seersucker. Not only is this dress the cutest thing I have ever seen, but it also has deep pockets perfect for keeping my phone and ID.
I seriously cannot get over how extremely generous the Lauren James team was. I mean they really treated me with such kindness and I couldn’t be anymore grateful for them. The fact that I get to spend my weekends collaborating with such outstanding companies is crazy to me. I started this blog as a risk, something to take me out of my comfort zone but also to help ease my mind during a stressful time during my junior year of high school. I’m still kind of amazed Daily Dose of Prep has turned out to be so influential to people. I’m eternally blessed to be able to call this a job and all of this wouldn’t be possible without the continual support of readers, followers, companies, family, and friends. Thank y’all for supporting Daily Dose of Prep enough for me to do such memorable things like yesterday! Enjoy the photos and please visit Lauren James’ website here to shop and follow them here on Instagram!

If you caught my Live Story last night you might have heard me talk about styles and how they are ever changing. I mentioned that although I don’t see my style changing anytime soon, I did mention how I wish to infuse a few trends into my wardrobe. I’ve been trying our off the shoulder tops and dresses and crop tops. I love the Lilly Pulitzer crop top sets because they really combine classic Lilly Pulitzer styles with modern trends. Right now, Lilly has some of the most adorable crop and skirt/shorts sets!
Today I am styling my Melody crop top set from the Spring 2016 collection in the print “La Via Loca”. Although this set is all sold out, I linked all of Lilly’s current crop top sets!!

Navy makes up over half of my closet — I’m not ashamed to say it. I probably have 6 navy sweaters, do I need 6 navy sweaters? No. But I love the color so much that I don’t feel guilty when I compulsively purchase new navy items for my closet. Navy is also such a staple color to have in your closet. You can pair almost every color with it and you can wear it for all four seasons.
Today I am utilizing the abundance of navy in my closet to bring you all a navy on navy look. I love this Lenore Skort from Lilly Pulitzer. I purchased it at the end of last summer while I was working there before leaving for school. During the time, I put myself on a spending freeze but broke it for this skort! Lilly doesn’t do too much with solid navy bottoms. We have a pair of navy Callahan shorts but I had never seen a navy skort before. The slit in the side and the white detailing gives it that old school Lilly vibe that we all love so much.
I paired the skort with my J.Crew grosgrain ribbon tee. This is one of my favorite items in my closet at the moment. The navy and white stripe is always a classic but the grosgrain ribbon at the bottom of the shirt and along the cuffs really gives it a unique J.Crew feel. Not to mention they added a gold button detailing on top of the ribbon.
For accessories, I kept it simple like I tend to with my club masters from J.Crew Factory, navy and white Jack Rogers, pearl earrings and my Kiel James Patrick gold pearl choker. Everything is linked below so you can shop this look!

Happy (Hoppy lol) Easter to everyone! I love Easter, it is by far the happiest day in the church calendar and one of my favorite holidays! Easter is a time of great joy and celebration, it is a time to renew our baptismal promises to the church. We are wiped clean of our sins and are cleansed and reborn.
On this day, Jesus ascended into Heaven and defeated death. On this happy day, it is important to remember the ultimate sacrifice He paid in order to give all of us life again. Say a prayer of thanks to God and praise His name on high.
Today I will be celebrating with my family and friends. The day begins with church with my family. The music at Easter mass is always a favorite of mine. Everyone is so happy and optimistic. We’ll make our way to brunch shortly after and then to my grandmother’s house for Easter dinner. I’m sure an egg hunt will take place throughout the day and make sure to follow along on Instagram @dailydoseof_prep to keep up!
My outfit today is my Kini in the Keys January Skort from Lilly Pulitzer paired with a white Elsa Top from Lilly Pulitzer as well. For shoes I am wearing my gold Palm Beach Sandals and my hat is a vintage hat from Express. I say vintage because it was purchased over 30 years ago right after my mom graduated college!!
I’m finally home for Easter weekend and I am so excited. I am a home body and love to be at home with my family. Easter is also one of my most favorite times to spend with my family because not only is the holiday itself truly one of the happiest there is to celebrate but it is so beautiful outside this time of year.
To match the gorgeous weather and happy occasion, for Easter this year I wanted to make some fun Lilly Pulitzer Easter eggs. For a last minute east egg idea, a fun idea would be to ModPodge Lilly Pulitzer paper to hard boiled eggs. It took me about 4 minutes per egg and they ended up looking pretty good. I also wanted to share a possible Easter outfit with everyone!
I love the classic Mila Shift from Lilly Pulitzer and this one from last summer is so cute! It is in the print Roar of the Seas. I think hats are also a classic on Easter so this vintage hat is perfect for this Sunday. The pink in the ribbon matches the pink in the dress so well. For accessories, I wanted to let the dress speak for itself so I kept things simple with my gold Palm Beach Sandals and pearl earrings. Enjoy!
P.S. — these photos look a little different because I’m wearing absolutely no makeup at all. I woke up yesterday morning with an eye infection but wanted to bring a fun Easter look! That’s why where are less photos and no head on photos 🙈

I’ve been trying to infuse a few items in my wardrobe with some modern trends like off the shoulders and three quarter length sleeves. It’s a little hard for me to get out of my comfort zone and try new trends. I’m pretty into my Lilly Pulitzer and Chino shorts but here’s to trying.
When I was in New York for Spring break, I decided to visit the Forever21 in Times Square. The store is 5 floors and literally has anything that you could ever need. That being said, I very rarely shop at Forever21 because the amount of things the store sells is intimidating to me. Nevertheless, I persisted and found a few gems.
My favorite find of the shopping trip was this light blue and white contemporary striped dress. The fabric is so light and airy and has the trendy off the shoulders looks that everyone is so into right now. What I really love about the dress is how they added ties on the shoulder to keep the dress up. I love the little extra detail that the designers added.
I styled my wrap up espadrilles with the dress. Although they are back and white, I think they paired really well together. I kept jewelry simple and stuck to my pearl earrings and pearl necklace.
