In gearing up for NYC tomorrow, I have decided to hold off on outfit posts. I have so many fun things planned for the upcoming few days so I just want to keep today’s post a little more low-key. I know that readers love when I share a little but about me so I wanted to share a few random facts about me so everyone can get to know me a little bit better.
I think it’s so important for bloggers, youtubers, and social media influencers to share a little but about themselves every now and then so readers have a deeper, more personal connection with them. I love being able to share some fun facts about me so I can establish better relationships with y’all! So here are 10 of my favorite things, let me know if we have anything in common!
My favorite thing to do is drive on windy country road and sing to music. I love to sing and love all types of music but living in a dorm and just being around people all day every day makes it difficult to just let loose and sing at the top of your lungs. I find that the car is the only place I can go and be truly alone so driving and blasting great music and singing at the top of my lungs where nobody can judge me is great. It’s also nice to stop along the way for a Blizzard.
My favorite vacation is just going to Virginia Beach with my father’s side of the family. Coming from a very tight knit and very Catholic family, the times we spend together are always so special. We don’t need a fancy island in the Bahamas or a crazy getaway to Europe to make a vacation special. We make memories by playing cards until 2AM and by having family dinner every night together.
My favorite thing to do in college is to go to the JMU baseball games and sit in the outfield and do my homework while watching the game. I have always loved sports, especially baseball, and so going to the JMU games is always such a treat. The stadium is only about a mile walk from my dorm and the games are free so why waste the day indoors?
My favorite childhood memory is when my mom would make my sisters and I go outside and play during the summertime. We had a pool in the backyard and tons of grass to run around in and every kind of outdoor toy you could imagine. She would give us two options, either go and spend the day outside or stay inside and help her clear the house. We were kicked outside with our DS’s, maybe some Littlest Petshop toys, our Razor scooters and some chalk. We would spend the day playing games, making roadways out of chalk, and swimming. We were only allowed inside for the bathroom, to eat lunch, get water, or grab a popsicle.
My favorite TV shows kind of run the gambit. I love dramas like Gossip Girl, Revenge, Pretty Little Liars, and Friday Night Lights. But I also love Sci-Fi shows such as Once Upon a Time and The Vampire Diaries. I can always watch a comedy like the Office or Parks and Rec or a cartoon like Family Guy or Bob’s Burgers. Don’t forget about reality television like the Bachelor and Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
My favorite meal is kind of a weird one. If we’re being totally honesty I will say that the best meal one can eat is a pizza from Papa Johns, fresh cut strawberries, Caesar salad, and a diet coke. This stems from the fact that I was a very picky child growing up and those foods always stuck as favorites to me. Now that I’m in college and I eat pizza all the time, I don’t find it as appealing. Now I would say my favorite meal is Thanksgiving dinner. I could eat mashed potatoes, Turkey, cranberry sauce, green beans, rolls, and pie every day of the week.
My favorite books usually go with the theme of dystopian. Anything with a severely broken and odd society interests me. I think the creativity of the author captivates me and seeing how they get the characters out of their predicaments. The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Match series, and the Red Queen series are some of my favorite books.
My favorite movie of all time is The Devil Wears Prada. My dad is a huge fan of this movie and he always raved about it. One day, I found it on the internet and decided to sit back and watch it. One, I love Meryl Streep and I love the fashion industry. Other movies that are in the ranks are The Hunger Games, Confessions of the Shopaholic, The Great Gatsby, The Parent Trap, and Legally Blonde.
My favorite Lilly Pulitzer item that I own is probably my Melody Crop Top set in La Via Loca or my Rayna Dress in Sweet and Sour. The crop top set was from spring of 2015 and I love it! It’s a gorgeous springy blue and white set that is so comfortable! It’s very Lilly but also very modern and extremely “resort chic”. The Rayna Dress is an older dress from a few years back ( I think 2014). It’s a casual yet classy polo dress with a small little back cut out. It’s a little on the “preppier” side which gives a nod to older Lilly P.
My favorite thing about blogging is when readers send me messages, comments, or approach me in person. Knowing that there is someone out there who looks forward to my posts or appreciates my hard work means everything to me. I love blogging for myself but it’s nice to know that others love the content I put out as much as I do.
Make sure to stay tuned over on Instagram for NYC posts starting tomorrow!! I can’t wait to share my adventures with everyone. You can follow me here! Also, let me know if we have any favorite things in common. I would love to hear from you.
